The 3rd Annual Capital Queer Prom, was held on Saturday, March 7, 2009, aboard the Spirit of Mount Vernon moonlit Potomac cruise. The Capital Queer Prom is a formal gala that was created to give the adult LGBT community a second chance to attend the prom you never had and relive those high school years.

The 2009 Capital Queer Prom benefited local non-profit organization, One In Ten. Formed in 1990, One In Ten was born from the frustration of LGBT struggles, in the hope that an educational and arts organization would bring a positive message about being gay and lesbian to the public. In 1991, it produced its first program, a film festival that instantly became a powerful center of LGBT affinity and pride. |
Guests attending the 3rd Annual Capital Queer Prom enjoyed heavy hor’dourves, music & dancing, silent auction, prom king & queen, an evening with DC’s finest, and much more!
